几个英语的2个小语法问题

选a吧
other the other 差不多 都可以修饰一个名词
the other用于特指
others 用于一定范围内复数
any other 强调任何

后两者没太大区别 均为提供某人做某事

stop A from B是常用的固定搭配，但是首先要分析其中的逻辑关系。
from后面的B是A的隐藏的谓语。
假设句子：We must stop him from going to swim in the river.
改写一下：He is going to swim in the river. We must stop it.
显然，from后面的动名词短语going to swim是from前面的him（he）的谓语。

回到原句：We must try our best to stop the pollution ______ a happier life.如果用from living代入，逻辑上living a happier life就是pollution的谓语，意思是污染带来幸福的生活。显然这是不符合事实的；相反阻止污染才能带来幸福的生活。a happier life应该理解为阻止污染的目的或结果，因此不能用from living a happier life。表示目的或结果可以用不定式to live a happier life。

这个句子只是省略了from短语，补完整就是：We must try our best to stop the pollution <from diffusion> to live a happier life.
