本设计考虑了酒糟废水COD高、SS高、水温高的特点，选用了两级厌氧——好氧工艺。其中厌氧段为厌氧发酵罐+升流式厌氧污泥床（UASB）反应器，好氧段为CAST活性污泥法工艺。先进行固液分离，回收酒糟作为农业肥料，再分别经过高温发酵（厌氧发酵罐）、中温发酵（UASB）降解有机物，同时回收在发酵过程中产生的大量沼气。而在UASB反应器之前设置混凝澄清池，则是为了确保UASB反应器的进水的SS不会过高以满足UASB正常稳定地运行。该工艺不仅满足了废水达标排放的要求，而且变废为宝，实现了较高的经济效益，为处理设施的正常运行提供了经济基础。同时，改善了生态环境，实现了经济和生态环境的双赢。
设计的处理规模为5000m3/d。经过处理后，废水的COD、BOD、SS分别由40000mg/L、23000 mg/L、24000 mg/L下降到小于300 mg/L、小于100 mg/L、小于150 mg/L，达到（GB8978—1996）二级排放标准后排放。
废水处理工艺流程为：

离心机——集水池——厌氧发酵罐——混凝澄清池——
UASB反应器——竖流式沉淀池——CAST池

污泥处理工艺流程为：

污泥浓缩池——带式压滤机

工程总投资：2482.6万元，每吨水处理成本为：3.0367元，每吨水实现的净收益为：6元
