雾天驾车长距离行驶，由于空气湿度很大，极易导致点火系统接触不良、燃油供给系统进水而自行熄火，必须排除故障后才能重新启动。自行迅速排故的方法如下：
（1）点火系统。（2）燃料供给系统。

3、加速时熄火后不能启动
（1）当发动机怠速时突然加速，若过渡喷孔堵塞，特别是真空式（CV型）化油器出现过渡性不良，混合气过稀而自行熄火后，清洗化油器过渡孔后便可顺利启动发动机，启动后应平稳柔和地加速，尽量避免急加速，人为造成过渡性不良。
（2）高速时加速自行熄火，主要影响因素为高速时加速形成的高电压、大电流导致稳压整流器内的高压熄火保护电路起作用而自行熄火等。前者待发动机冷却后便可顺利起动；后者更换随车自备的新电容后，即可启动。不过，要彻底排除高速时加速自行熄火的故障。到达目的地后，应尽快更换熄火保护电压过低的稳压整流器。
4、行驶中突然熄火后不能启动
行驶中突然熄火除汽油用完外，绝大多数故障出在电气系统。
（1）紧急熄火开关不良。带有紧急熄火开关的摩托车，当其出现断路时即熄火。查出非人为因素出现的断路，例如在驾驶的过程中无意中断开了紧急熄火开关，重新置于【ON】位置便可启动。如果是紧急熄火开关内部故障而导致断路时，可用一根导线将其接通，临时应急解决一下问题，到达目的地后应尽快更换紧急熄火开关。
（2）点火线圈不良。如点火线圈插接头出现松脱而断火，应检查各插接头，并清除油污，增大插接片、座的夹紧力，增加接触强度，以保证接触稳定。
（3）触发线圈不良。触发线圈引线接头松脱出现断火，重新接上并想办法加固接头可应急解决一下问题，到达目的地后应尽快加固引线焊接强度，彻底清除假焊隐患。
