1题你想用分词做状语的结构但你要注意这样做后面的for a long time也是状语，这是老外最忌讳的重复，还不如直接用there be
分词是V-ing或V-ed做状语用法如下
及物动词接宾语用-ing
及物动词不接宾语用-ed
不及物动词不接宾语用-ing
2题continue做天气持续时是及物动词，这里后面不带宾语，由上面所说应该用-ed ,if这里引导的是条件状语从句
3题require后接to do或名词性宾语（即-ing)之所以不用被动因为它和need doing等用法一致是本身就有被动意思，而relate to短语和judge等几个动词在做状语时永远用-ing除非你用定语从句去改写则只能用relate sth. to sth.或be related to sth.
4题be afraid of虽然也有害怕的意思但最主要还是担心的意思，而be afraid to do才是害怕去做某事，由次可知显然选d
5题other than是除非的意思，这里是两个短句用连词性短语连接，前后主语都是he显然只有c正确,d看似正确但要知道-ing这里不是动名词不能这么用b更不对，因为主语后面不能跟不定式
6题try to do尝试去做try doing有试一下能否成功的意思，故此处用-ing．而get sth. to do是催使某物做某事
