whether....or ...是什么意思？

whether是是否的的意思，和if的其中一个意思一样，但和if 有区别，如果加不定式的话一定要用whether的，whether ……or就相当于whether ,如你的例句就等于I don't know whether he has gone .=I don't know if has gone .
either…or是两个中的一个，和whether……or完全不一样的如：Either you or i will go there.要么你要么我得去哪儿。它可以和另外两个一起记。nether nor和both and ,一个事两个都，一个是两个都不，至于all指的是三个或三个以上都。

意思是"是否如何如何",相当于if,例如: I don't know whether he has gone or not.我不知道他是否已经走了。
