UC知道留学澳洲，请问有个专有名词“PR”是指什么？

我想带我女朋友一起出国，这个是澳大利亚的朋友给我的邮件，我想知道他所说的PR是什么？PUBLIC RELATION? 怎样取得呢？还有那个get urself recongnized 具体是什么意思？
“if u r not married that is much harder.....the only way is for u to get married or u come to Australia first and get urself recognized....another words to get a pr here then sponsor ur gf to Australia.....it will take a long time....”

那按他的意思就是说get a pr = be recognized 了。谢谢你，不然我还another way着呢。。
你不能告诉我要得到PR有什么条件啊？我在网上查了半天也没查到一个确切的答案。。。
