either有时=the other 吗？

不同,虽然两个都有指两者中的另一个,可是either做为两者择一讲时必须与or搭配,表示"不是...就是...".如:She is either a teacher or a doctor.而the other为此意时,前面的句子必定有one,表示"一个....另一个...".如:There are two people in the room,one is petter,the other is betty.从这两个句子可以看出either指的是一个物体或是...或是....,而the other指的是两个不同物体.
