和在一起写的如whoever等与分开写的如No matter who等既可以引导名词性从句,也可以引导让步状语从句,而引导名词性从句时只能用whoever等这种和在一起写的连词了.如:
Whoever breaks laws will be punished .=No matter who breaks laws will be punished.无论谁犯了法都要受到惩罚.一个whoever 就等于Anyone who ...一个先行词加一个关系代词.你用这种方法替换一下,能讲得通的就是主语从句做主语了.
No matter who breaks laws, we will punish him.无论谁犯了法,我们都要惩罚他.前面是一个让步状语从句.
类似的有“which”与“whichever”

No matter which后引导状语从句。 Whichever 后既可以引导状语从句，也可以引导名词性从句。

No matter which 与whichever只有在作壮语时候才通用，否则只能用成whichever
