The present continuous tense

 Jane is talking to a friend at the moment.
 The boys are sitting in the garden.
 It isn’t raining now,look.
 What are you doing now? Are you writing a letter?
 Is Richard working today?
USE
We use the present continuous tense to talk about things that are happening now,at the moment!!
(with a future meaning)
the simple present tense

 We sit here every evening. I sometimes read a book.
 Emma reads the newspaper or watches television.
Uses of the simple present tense
We use the simple present to talk about
 Things that happen again and again, e.g. we sit here every evening.
 Facts, things that stay the same for a long time, e.g. I live in Scotland.
 Feelings, e.g. I like, I want.
 Thoughts, e.g. I think, I know
