本人在做IBT TOEFL的资料是遇到的问题,是新东方引进的DELTA的蓝皮书
在618页的Exercise 2.2.B(p222)标题下的译文的最后一段着一句话

women basically supported the men ,whose job was to procure the game.
procure the game 啥意思啊?game 有没有打猎的意思啊!整个意思是不是"陈述打猎"的意思啊?但PROCURE没有"陈述"这意思!

procure the game，以打猎作为日常工作，
game 确有“打猎”的意思，主要是欧洲贵族把打猎作为游戏，所以英语中的game可以理解为“娱乐性质的狩猎”，譬如game birds就是山鸡、鹌鹑那样专门用来作为猎物对象的猎禽。
讲究起来，在你给出的这段文字中用game一词是不够准确的，因为当时的狩猎不是娱乐，而是谋生手段，因此用hunting代替更合理。
game一词有猎物的意思，所以procure the game 可以译为获取猎物，参照牛津高阶字典
扮演陈述者的游戏？
