用祈使句可以how beautiful we are!
但如果if we were so beautiful,it was ridiculous

how开头的感叹句，格式是；
how 形容词/副词 主语 谓语 ！
如： how sweet the apple is! How fast he runs!
lz你用的那个如果也是一样的道理，关键是if引导的是从句，而感叹只要感叹主语部分。
所以how ridiculous (it was) if we were beautiful!
至于how ridiculous that we were beautiful was? 则明显多了一个谓语动词was，而且if也不见了，句意就变了。（因为用if就是虚拟语气，不用的话理解就不同了）。
补充——
that if we were beautiful was ridiculous?
没这样句子的。。。that虽然可以引导主语从句，但不可能和if一起用。that we were beautiful was ridiculous。感觉通一点。但还是很奇怪，句子不会这么说的还是原句比较通。
所以我认为不能简化，因为原来的句子，主句从句都很完整也很精炼，再简缩意思就不对了。
变成感叹句：how ridiculous that if we were beautiful was?
这句话最后的was很奇怪，应该在that和if的中间。把主句变了感叹句，从句不用变，跟着就好。
how ridiculous that we were beautiful was这句话肯定是不对的，简直不通！

我认为，你问的句子，改成感叹句，就从语意上，也不太通顺啊……
我觉得对的：How ridiculous (it is) to say we were that beautiful!
