look forward to 后接名词或动名词，，为什么这里用to stay，而不用staying

我给你举个例子
EXAMPLE:
(1)I'm *looking forward* to see her .我向前看为了看到她
(2)I'm *looking forward to* seeing it. 我希望看到她
forward 有向前的意思比如第一个句子
look forward to 是一个短语是希望的意思 to经常是作为不定式的一部分但是不要固定思维这里的to 是介词并非动词不定式符号后面可以加名词要接动词当然也得接和名词亲缘关系最近的动名词啦

而这句话里,前半部分,SHE WANTED THE MAN
want somebody to do 是指想某人去做什么,所以,并不与后面的LOOKING FORWARD TO 重叠,所以要用TO STAY.

looking for to do sth

she was looking forward to 是定语从句修饰the man
She wanted the man to stay with her.
want sb. to do sth.

你弄错了,在这里to stay实际是行是want后面的.
she was looking forward to 只是一个插入语,

你把she is looking forward to 去掉再看这个句子
就变成了she wanted the man to stay with her
