在看《投资学》时常看到这个词，是在说证券登记方面的，但baidu，google都没有搜到具体是什么意思。谢谢！
我看的是中文版，直接看英文担心问题更多，所以先看看中文的。是博迪的《投资学》第六版，网上评价还是很高的版本，朱宝宪等翻译的。谢谢！能顺便提供一下英文更好，呵呵。

巷名： 描述交易商持有的，以它自己名义注册的客户证券的情况。简单地说就是为了交易方便很多投资者的证券都是挂在交易商名下的。这样就避免了大量的投资者直接注册以及不同投资者间的证券实物间的转换。
英文翻译：Street name
英文解释：When securities are held in the name of a broker or other nominee, as opposed to holding them in the customer's name.
Shares are held in street name because it makes transferring the securities easier. This is because they are held in the broker's custody, rather than having to register in the customer's name and physically transfer certificates.
