Why do so many countries speak English as their official language?

因为英国的殖民时代的殖民活动使他们的语言走到了地球上的很多地方，随着时间的推移，一代一代人的不停的传承，继承，发展，英语已经在很多地方生根发芽，很多人生下来就开始接触这种语言，当他们接触到不同社会来的人时，发现他们的共同语言就是英语，于是为了方便，大家就都主动用英语交流，政府官方更有机会接触到别国 别地区的人，所以渐渐的英语成了很多地方的官方语言

Why learning English is important?

Good morning ! Boys and girls,

I am very very glad to go on the stage and tell something to you. I am so proud of my bravery. Because as you all know my English is so poor , especially my English pronunciation . But I still want to say something . Because I know , English is very important . I should practise myself, the more the better.

As we all know, English is an international language, and it could be used all over the world. However, Spanish is the language that most people speak in the world, but why is English still the language that can be used in any country, any city, or even any town?
