陈述句
陈述句是陈述一个事实或者说话人的看法。它包括肯定句（The Affirmative Sentence）和否定句（The Negative Sentence）两种。陈述句在书写时句末有句号，而在朗读时则用降调。如：

She became a doctor after college.

We are very busy preparing for the exams.

Not many students attended the lecture.

I don't think you are right.

Reading makes a full man.

Mark Twain is a famous American writer.

There is a great deal of traffic on the street.
