Chilly pepper is also named Foreign Pepper and possibly came from the West Foreign tribes. For people of those tribes lived in the border area of Sichuan, Gansu, Yunnan, Guizhou and other provinces of West China which were called West Foreigners during the Qing Dynasty, chilly pepper maybe spread the Han’s people from those foreigners, but possibly its time should not be so late as Qing Dynasty. Since people who liked to have chilly pepper halfly live in Sichuan, Yunnan, Guizhou and Hunan province, it had seemed that this hypothesis had been supposed to be true; however our research work should not completely depend on such words’ literary meaning, for example, didn’t people think that the Hu Pepper came from the XiongNu area?
