关于 it's后的先行词的用法

the place that 用在这里没错,用where 也对,
where you go 是由where 引导的表语从句,where在表语从句里做状语.
who you travel with是由who 引导的表语从句,who在句中做宾语.除了that,who,还可以用whom,和who 起到同样的作用

这是相当与 Where /who 引导的表语从句

区别强调句和一般的从句其实很简单

把强调部分去掉 如果句子还通且符合原意 那就是强调句

反之，则不是

是恰当的.
这里的where you go就相当于:the place that.
例:I wonder where you've gone.
即I wonder the place that you've gone.

It's +强调部分+that+句子的其他部分，这是一般的强调倒装句。
但强调时间、地点、人物、过程、状态时，后面就不能用that了，
要分别用when=the time that;where=the place that;who/whom（强调宾格时）=the person that;如：
It' the palace where the old king lived.
It' the young man who helped the old man.
It's the old man whom the young man helped.
