抽象名词前，不是不用加“the”的吗？

I say a prayer as I prepare to leave and I pray that God give me the strength and the wisdom to bring democracy to my country and to end extremism.

为何strength和wisdom前面加了“the”，而“democracy ”和“extremism”前不用加“the”?

the特指后文的to（完整形式which is used to ）bring democracy to my country and to end extremism（表示目的的状语从句）,不可一去掉．
“democracy ”和“extremism”作整体名词，因为修饰my country ，不可以加the ．
