网络翻译机都是翻译成“优先文学”、“实现文献”、“先行文献”之类的，感觉在文中根本不通顺……

literature 在这里指的不是“文学”，而是“参考文献”。我们做论文最后都要列出“参考文献”，正规叫法就是Literature Review.
Prior literature 指的就是本论文之前对此题目的研究文献。所以翻译成“此前的研究文献资料”还是恰当的。
