内容提要：我国是一个人口大国，如何解决好就业，一直以来都是我国面临的一项艰巨而紧迫的任务。随着工业结构的调整、现代企业制度的建立以及农村劳动生产率的提高，我国第一、二产业逐步分流出大量的剩余劳动力，使我国的就业形势更加严峻。而从三大产业就业结构来看，第三产业的就业弹性远远高于一、二产业，大力发展第三产业符合发展三大产业的演进规律，可以促进经济的增长。加快服务业的发展，提高它在国民经济中的地位，充分发挥其吸纳劳动力就业的主渠道作用，是多年来我国政府经济政策的重要导向之一，也是许多学者研究所得出的结论。目前我国正面临产业结构调整升级及解决就业的双重难题，如何适应经济发展和结构转化的一般规律，在产业结构调整升级过程中，通过发展服务业有效的解决就业，已成为我国面临的一项紧迫任务。要想成功的协调服务业和就业之间的关系，有效的发挥服务业对吸纳劳动力的“容器”作用，我们就不得不从了解当前服务业的现状入手，当前服务业中存在有哪些优势、劣势、机遇及威胁都将是我们重点研究的地方。
