it's my honour to stand here to host this meaningful and great activity, as it's known that English is the most widely spoken language in the world today and it is also official language for many international organizations such as the UN, the WTO,the WHO and so on, from these we can see that English is very important in our modern world as well as in our daily life and our study.
as students in the 21st century, it's very necessary and important for us to learn English and learn it well, since China has entered the WTO, and we are going to hold the 2008 Olympic Games, with English we can communicate better with our foreign guests and furthermore, we can introduce our spirit and our colorful culture to the whole world.
