晕一下楼上，POOR在这里的意思应该是差学生吧，怎么理解成穷学生。
a poor student could become a good one

Maybe someone thought poor students are those who never lesten to their teschers or never do homework. But actually not.Some poor students also try their best to study hard. Maybe they just didn't get a good way. That depend on our teachers .We can help them find a way and encourage them that they also can do a good job.

How to help a poor students becoming a good one ?First let them know where they can't do well and what they are good at.If they know that they can keep their good habit and change their bad one.Second let them make friends with good students.
They can learn something from good ones.And good students can also help them in learning or some other places.Third don't make them feel diaqppointed and encourage them when they do better.In one scentence pay more attation to them .
