老乡用英语怎么翻译？

UU说得挺好的，但是我有一点补充
要是说村里人，那用villager最中性，rube、bumpkin有鄙视的意思（乡巴佬）

要是说同乡人，说he's my townman/townee现在最合适。因为另外几个要不过时就是有老土的意思（有老土的意思是，就像现在很多省的也就能称作镇的地方也叫市，还说“我们镇上的”给人感觉老土。）

依本人浅见，“老乡”在汉语中有两个用途，不同的意思。

用途1：老乡=村民
villagers
例句：老乡们全都赶来支援我们。
All the villagers hastened to our assistance.

用途2：老乡=同乡

老乡可以解释为老朋友等啊 ，比如old fellow,kiddo,这两个只是直译！
