定语从句，限制性定语从句和非限制性定语从句

The USA,which is on the south of Canada,is famous for NBA.

Britain,where I once lived, is made of three countries.

Japan,as we all know, lies to the east of China.

Kenya, which is in Africa, is the name of a country.

是你老师让上述每个都写出两种定语从句吗？那他/她完全错了！

上述的名词只能写出非限制性定语从句，因为非限制性定语从句的先行词是独一无二的，也就是说，先行词是人名，地名时后面只能接非限制性定语从句！！非限制性定语从句只起到补充说明作用，可省略，并不影响句子意思，也就是说，没有它，句意仍然完整。

而限制性定语从句则不同，它是限定先行词的，如果省略，句意就不完整：

This is the book that you referred to.这就是你所指的那本书。如果省略了定语从句部分，那么这就是那本书，那本书？读者不清楚。

the USA is a country that has a large population.
the USA is a big country, which also has a large population.
