XX市将再次增加烟税
记者从市烟草专卖局获悉，从2006年1月1日起，XX市将再次增加烟税。
按照文件指示，本市将分别对国产卷烟增加30%，进口卷烟增加50%的商业税，这是自2000年来本市第二次对卷烟产品进行加税。
据统计，本市大约有40万吸烟人群，在我国城市吸烟人群平均比例中相对较高，对此自1995年起，市政府做出了一系列决策。首先在宣传上提出“关心下一代” “维护自身健康”等口号，同时加强青少年禁烟教育。但这只是避免了青少年吸烟比例的增加，并没有明显的减少社会吸烟人群的比例。
2002年一月，我市首次对烟草销售加税40%，据统计，吸烟人群相对去年减少9%，不少市民此项决策非常支持，认为有利于本市人民健康。
另外，市政府自2000年规定，烟草销售只能在专卖点进行，私人严禁贩卖香烟。
