学名来源：种名赠给已故德国著名古鸟类及形态学家Paul Buhler。
保存状况：完整个体。
基本特征：中等个体，具牙齿的原始鸟类，吻特别短，头高；前上颌骨背突构成整个外鼻孔的后缘。颈长具11枚颈椎，叉骨“V”字型，具一长的下突。乌喙骨相对较短，远端宽。胸骨顶端不强烈向后凹陷，胸骨具有一较短的后侧突。指骨爪没有华夏鸟那么退化。腕掌骨较短，第4掌骨扩展但不与第3掌骨末端愈合。第2指骨细长。尾综骨长，腹肋存在。

Furcula "V"-shaped with a long hypocledium. Coracoid short and expanded distally. Sternum with a short posterior process. Wing claw less reduced than in Catbayornis.
