是我学新概念三碰到的疑惑。
1.I was not surprised to find that the machine still refused to work after I had reassembled it, for the simple reason that I was left with several curiously shaped bits of metal which did not seem to fit anywhere.
这里的I was left with,为什么要用was left,而不直接用left,难道left是使动词。
2.On the day before our departure, several bus loads of tourists descended on the town.
这里的several bus为什么不用复数buses，不是印错，我查过许多版本了。

为什么这要用being，而不用was。

问题补充：还有这句：唯一生命迹象是一个丑陋的前瞻性黑山羊就短长度的绳子被绑在树上，在一个外地附近。
为什么这要用正，而不用了
1：是正确的。was left 是被动语态，我被留下和那些不知所安零件呆在一起，琢磨一下。
2：bus load是个单位，差不多一车的意思 several bus loads 是好几车的意思。
3：being是分词，这是一个句子，不能出现两个动词。要用分词。也可以这样。前面加个and就可以把being 改成was.始终记着，一个句子一个位谓语动词。句子的结束，是以句号为标志。
