脚本JavaScript语言编程如何调试的

按照书上说的，我把工具文件夹选项修改成可以调试脚本语言
可是我编写的小程序不知道如何才能在电脑上面进行测试
恳请真诚指点 必定重谢!
调试一般都用firefox的firebug
可以告诉下具体是怎么用马？？
就是说如何测试我的程序呢？？？
