判断方法是：
while是连词。在英语里，连词后面跟的是一个完整的句子（有主语，谓语，多数还有宾语）当遇到()后面跟着完整的句子，就可以知道能不能用while.
When即可以作副词，也可以作连词。
另外，When的动作不是持续性的。while前后的的动作是同时的，或是持续性的。EG：
When he left the house, I was sitting in the garden.
While he was in London,he studied music.
while 和 when 都可以引导时间状语从句
when 范围比较广，后可跟延续性 和 终止性的动词
while 后只可跟延续性动词 可以表示两样东西的比较 同时进行

when一般用在从句里面，while一般还可以表示转折关系
