为什么选with ,in

Though he had no pen to write ____ ,he wrote it down____pencil.
为什么第一个空填with 而第二个却填in 呢?????

虽然他没有笔（用来）写，但是他用铅笔写下了（有点不通顺）

第一个强调写的工具，是笔，Write with a pen
第二句，他写下了，这里不是工具，而是一种纪录形式，（如，铅笔字，墨水字）
这个句子如果改一下可以这样说

Thought he had no pencil to write with ,he wrote it down in Ink不能用PeN，
因为PEN不能表示形态，说得不清楚，
第一个是指笔，
第二个指铅笔粉，强调不是墨水~~~~~~~~

固定搭配，pen对应with pencil对应in
只要记住就可以了
