Tennis to Me

They may know that my favourite sport is tennis, but they may not underst
and what tennis means to me.
Sometimes I ask myself, “Why do you love tennis so much?” A difficult q
uestion, indeed.
When I stand at one end of the court, listening to the breeze that touche
s my hair, I always feel excited. Excited, not because I am too eager to defe
at my opponent, but because I can hardly wait to enjoy. True, most people pla
y tennis, or any other sport, to win. And it is really desirable to win. But
to me, the process of playing is enjoyable enough so that the result, whether
I win or lose, does not seem so important any more. You can call it laziness
, passiveness, or anything. I do not know. I do not care.
When I am happy, tennis makes me relaxed and easy. And if I am depressed,
tennis makes me tranquil and helps restore my energy. Tennis is a chance, a
chance for m
