摘要：近年来随着改革进程的加快，走向市场化的现代传媒业得到迅猛发展。但不可回避的是，在新闻事业蓬勃发展的同时，不少虚假新闻也出现在我们的新闻报道中。“纸馅包子”事件更是让人们对虚假新闻的关注度推向了极点。本文主要是想从“纸馅包子事件”中探讨虚假新闻的产生原因及其对媒体和社会的危害。通过研究引发我们对竞争激烈中国新闻业和市场效益抢夺的反思，并试图探讨综合防治的有效途径。尽管虚假新闻难以杜绝，笔者希望这篇文章能有助于对此类问题的思考和解决。
