我觉得不对，我认为是：
my family were having lunch when my teacher got my home
没有to的说，因为在这里home是adv不是n所以不能加to

when John arrived,they had dinner.
(John先到了，然后他们才吃晚餐）

When John arrived,they were having dinner.
(John到的时候他们在吃晚餐）

When John arrived,they had had dinner.
(John到之前他们就已经吃晚饭了）

这下明白了吧^.^

不合适

My family were having lunch when my teacher got to my home.

We were having lunch , while the teacher got my home .

River白羊座： 只看了你的第一句。 不用to是不正确的。 home是副词是没错，但my home就不是副词了
