Children scattered around her. They were all chatting and playing tips with one another. No matter what they kept themselves busy with, they all seemed to have a sense of belonging… a place to go…a thing to do. It was Mufti Day today, so everyone was dressed in their best clothes.
The once dull grey playground was immediately lit up by this rainbow of colours. The children jumped here and there like a fresh packet of cheerful jellybeans. But for the little girl, she was in her school uniform standing all alone under the Oak Tree. The school playground felt extremely cold for her.
She sat down besides the pile of oak tree leaves and took out her lunch box. Tempted by the delicious smell of fried rice, she got out her chopsticks and started eating. Nice and warm…..mmmm!
‘Maybe being alone isn’t so bad
The skinny short girl is still standing on the playground. Leaning against the ancient oak tree, her feet had been deeply planted in the ground during the past 35 minutes.
