A's age exceeds twice B's age by 8 years. In 4 years time half of A's age will exceed B's age by 2 years. Find their present ages.(How old are A and B now)?

You must know that B'age could be any natual number~
If B is 0, A is equal to (2B+8),then,A is 8;
if B is 1, A is 10;
……
……
if B is 8, then
A=2×8+8=24
That's the answer~

Though there are two equations in the question, but actually ,they are the same equation.You can't get a certain solution of two unknown number from one equation.
