一般很少说like sb. to do sth，而是would like sb. to do sth.，是表示“希望某人做某事”的意思，例如I'd like you to go there on Sunday.（我希望你星期天去那里）。但上面的句子不是表示这种意思。like sth.表示“喜欢”，而don't like sth就是否定的“讨厌”。him talking at table是动名词结构，也就是like后面的那个sth。所以句子的意思是“父亲不喜欢他在吃饭时说话。”
