大意是：
对于一种欲望，如果人能断定“它对健康不利，因此我可以戒除它”，肯定比断定“它对我好像并无害处，可以放纵它”要安全的多。。。。

我认为这个句子没有错。
facing to a desire, it is more secure
[ you can conclude that it is bad for the health and you want to quit it ]
than
[you conlude that you it has no harm with you and you can indulge myself into it ]....
分析句子可以看出这只是一个more..than的句型，只不过中间的成分比较复杂。

应该是faced to ~~~吧
be faced to 固定搭配，如果是非谓语动词，必须是faced

原句怎么这么乱七八糟的，语法上讲是非常的不正确。
