Cause表示原因、缘故、理由等意思时，着重指产生某种结果的原因：
What was the cause of the accident?
造成这一事故的原因是什么?
World peace is a cause we should all work for.
争取世界和平是一项我们都应该为之而努力的事业。

Reason着重指产生某种行为或想法的理由：

We have every reason to refuse.
我们完全有理由拒绝。
We have reason to believe that he was lying.
我们有理由相信他是在撒谎。
The reason for her absence was that she was ill.
她之所以缺席是因为她病了。

reason 理由 ，逻辑理由
cause 起因，事情前因后果

Reason一般指逻辑上的理由，或者叫“道理”。
Cause一般指起因，因为“Cause”导致了结果result产生。
上题中人们为经济担忧，也是因为某种原因导致人们为经济担忧。
