一、 时间状语从句的紧缩形式

What animal eats with its tail?

All animals do. No one takes off its tail while eating.

什么动物用尾巴吃东西？（故意理解成：什么动物带着尾巴吃东西？）

所有动物，没有动物吃东西时把尾巴拿下来。

注：With: 用…做；带着

When angry, count to ten before you speak. If very angry, count to a hundred.

生气时不数到10不要开口，如果非常生气要数到100再开口。

注：生气时数数让自己平静下来，但如果数得太多，比如数到1万，可能数着数者就睡着了。

Minds are like parachutes（降落伞）: they only function when open.

头脑象降落伞，只有打开时才起作用。

注：这是似是而非的废话，考虑问题就用脑子，不考虑问题就不用脑子，干吗非要和降落伞比。同样的废话：

Minds are like cars: they only function when started.

头脑象汽车，只有发动才起作用。
