Preparation of cyclohexanone oxime from cyclohexanone

(If you do not have the appropriate amount of your reactant, you will need to scale this reaction and each following one to an appropriate amount.) In a 250 mL erlenmeyer flask, dissolve 14 g. of hydroxylamine hydrochloride and 20 g. of sodium acetate trihydrate in 60 mL of water. Warm the solution to 35-40°C with a hot plate. Add 14 g. of the cyclohexanone in 2 mL increments while stirring. A solid will precipitate out. When all the cyclohexanone is added, stopper the flask and shake vigorously until the oxime completely precipitates out as a fine white powder. If there are large lumps, you will need to shake some more. Cool the flask to room temperature and collect the solid by vacuum filtration. Wash the product with a small amount of water, and air dry.

加入羟胺(NH2OH),在碱性条件下反应即可。
