这是英语考研1999年真题阅读理解第二篇的第一句:In the first year or so of web business,most of action has revolved around efforts to tap the consumer market.我不太理解这个or so of 在句子中的作用和意思，哪位大虾行行好解释一下，谢谢啦！！

这句话的意思可以理解为“大约在网络商业（电子商务）发展的第一年”

or so是“大约”的意思，后面的of结构应该是“the first year of web business”，这样理解就应该比较容易了。
