我内心深处最根本的目的不是让中国人都去学英语，恰恰相反，我想让中国人尽量少花点时间学英语，甚至不要学英语，要学就要快速地去学，别没完没了地学、磨磨蹭蹭地学、别拖泥带水地学，更不能其他什么事都不干地学英语，把学英语当成了“主业”。中国人在学英语上耗费的时间太多了，多到没有必要和没有道理的程度。英语虽然是世界上的优秀语言，和汉语一样优秀，但对于中国人来说，英语只是个工具，一个十分重要的工具，而不能成为中国人振兴中华的主要手段。诚然，一部分中国人学好英语会对中国的发展有很大的帮助，但是否人人都要学好英语？令人着急的不是中国人不学英语，而是大学生们、研究生们、甚至博士生们几乎拿出在校一半的时间学英语？中国的大学几乎都成了英语大学，有人说中国的大学教育水平严重下滑，其中除了大量扩招的原因外，另一个重要的原因是学生们被学英语负担所困扰，把过多的时间都花在了学英语上。中国的大学要想赶超美国的大学有多费劲？人家没有英语课，没有四级、没有六级，一心一意地研究专业技术，涌现出了比尔盖茨、戴尔……这样的大人物，而中国的大学生们过不了英语四级就毕不了业，想过四级就要花大量时间学英语，背无穷无尽的单词，背各种介词的用法……还怎么赶超美国，起点就不一样？
