近些年来，物流成为一个新的经济热点。物流企业如雨后春笋般不断涌现，如何使正处于发展初期的物流行业能够健康、有序地发展壮大，成为当前需要解决的迫切问题。对物流企业进行绩效评价，能够促进企业改善经营管理，正确判断企业的实际经营水平，提高经营能力，进而增加企业的整体效益。基于这种认识，本文结合第三方物流企业自身特点，建立了一套第三方物流企业的绩效评价体系。
本文首先对第三方物流的相关知识进行了介绍。然后以企业绩效评价为中心，围绕中心展开陈述，先后介绍了企业绩效评价的概念及特征，并就企业绩效评价的作用、构成、及评价程序进行了说明。最后在阐述了评价指标体系的设计原则之后，按照设计原则从财务、客户、业务流程、技术创新及职员五个层面构建了评价体系，并对各层面进行了具体的论述。
全文在借鉴现有中外研究成果的基础上结合物流行业自身的特点建立了一套第三方物流企业绩效评价指标体系。将财务评价指标体系与非财务评价指标体系有机地结合在一起，从而能全面、客观地反映物流企业的生产运营状况。
