ABSTRACT
This paper is based on the essential issue of buildings and discusses on how buildings follow continental climate in China. Following five parts are involved in the paper: The Chapter 1 analyses the influence of continental climate to buildings in China at first, then advances an idea for buildings to change their configurations for continental climate. The Chapter 2 puts forth concept of building’s climate-responsiveness. After comparing the procedure of lives’ evolution of configurations to buildings’, the paper points out the principles, mediums, and approaches for building’s climate- responsiveness. The Chapter 3 first defines “spatial boundary” and its function is permselectivity. We build spatial boundaries to prevent the unfavorable climatic element and let the ideal climatic elements come in at the same time.
