“纱丽”(Saree或Sari)，是印度女性心中舍弃不了的一种情结，印度人以自己别具一格的创造力诠释着他们对于生活、审美、色彩的理解和追求。有人说“如果泰戈尔的诗里有最高超的理想主义，那么纱丽里就有女人最美丽的情怀”，委实如此。纱丽之于印度女性，不啻旗袍之于中国女性、奥黛之于越南女性、和服之于日本女性，雅致而又不落奢华，清婉而又不失庄重，无论在繁华的都市街区，还是在幽静的乡村巷弄，无论在婚丧宴席的重大场合，还是在上班劳作的日常生活，几乎无处不能瞥见飘逸、妍丽的“纱丽”。尽管婚后的印度妇女普遍日渐体态丰腴，但只要她们裹上纱丽，半是遮掩半是敞露，隐隐绰绰的身姿美感立生，顾盼神飞，慑人心魄。
