随着网络技术的高速发展，计算机应用的普及，利用计算机对图书馆的日常工作进行管理势在必行。
虽然目前很多大型的图书馆已经有一套比较完善的管理系统，但是在一些中小型的图书馆中，大部分工作仍需由手工完成，工作起来效率比较低，管理员不能及时了解图书馆内各类图书的借阅情况，读者需要的图书难以在短时间内找到，不便于及时地调整图书结构，为了更好地适应当前读者的节约需求，解决手工管理中存在的许多弊端，越来越多的中小型图书馆正在逐步像计算机信息化管理转变。
本系统就是针对这种情况，运用先进的C#语言、Microsoft Visual Studio 2008以及Microsoft SQL Server 2005数据库结合设计而成。系统主要包括管理模块、查询模块和图书节换模块等。运用了本系统能够帮助图书管理人员能够更方便、更轻松的完成图书借阅管理工作。
It’s been a requisite tendency to take advantage of computers to manage the library with the accelerated development of internet technology and popularized application of computers. Presently a lot of large libraries have been equipped with a set of pretty mature management systems; though, in medium and small sized libraries, a majority of work is conducted by hand. The efficiency is thus rather low, for example, librarians can’t in time learn about the checking-out of various types of books; it’s hard for readers to find the target books in a short time; it does not facilitate immediate adjustment of book structures as well.
