教材因素。作为高等职业院校基本建设之一的教材建设，远远滞后于高等职业教育发展的步伐，以至于许多高等职业教育院校的学生缺乏适用的教材，这势必影响高等职业院校的教育质量，也不利于高等职业教育的健康、和谐发展。高等职业教育教材的主要问题是：①符合高职教育特色的“对口”教材严重不足，现在高等职业教育的教材不成体系，教材的编写主要集中在大专层次，高职教材没有自己的特点和优点；②专科层次的教材或借用本科同类教材，由任课教师进行适当的删减、增补而成，是“本科压缩型”或“本科压缩版”，或改编中专教材或在其基础上增添部分内容，由于缺乏科学的指导，行业的支持，便出现了教材理论不强，实践性不足的尴尬局面。本科层次的教材多数借用普通本科的教材，职业特色体现不够；③教材内容与职业资格证书制度缺乏衔接；④与专业课程相配套的实践教材严重不足。
