应用完成时。而且very much用在此处不合适。
这样比较好：haven't contacted for quite a long time

不能，应该说 we/ they haven't contacted for a long time.
very much就不用加了，long 就表示“很长”的意思

very much 不是这么用的...

very much 是多余的.
如果是你跟别人说,很久没有联络XX了, I didn't contact XX for (quite) a long time. we haven't contacted each other for (quite) a long time.

如果是重遇某人,然后说我们很久没有联络了, We haven't contacted for such a long time. It seems to be years that we haven't seen each other.

long time no see is chinglish. make sure you never say that.

haven't heard from you in a while.
