And the number of the natural disasters is increasing. The successful disaster identification, assessment, monitoring, early warning, search, rescue and recovery are based on the well-organized government, the development of technology, the maturity insurance programs and sufficient financial reserves. But the gaps of governmental abilities between the developing countries and the developed countries are pretty wide. Somalia thinks that to deal with the natural disasters, every country should get comprehensively involved in the know-how and information sharing process and the financial aid.
Somalia is one of Least Developed Countries. The major natural hazards are recurring droughts; frequent dust storms over eastern plains in summer; floods during rainy season.
