上面这句话翻译为法语，让我感到有点为难，宾语还是直接提前吗？

les habitants locaux le s'étonnent tellement.这样子对吗？

为什么会有代词式动词？因为其中的 se 已经扮演了宾语的角色，你再加个le，不是多此一举吗。
Sa présence a bien surpris les habitants locaux.

étonner是及物动词，所以可以说，Son appratiton étonne les habitants.

或者用这个短语s'étonner de
Les habitants s'étonnent de son apparition.
